BMS staff, lion dance troupe and partners at the new headquarters opening and 26th anniversary
6 June 2026: BMS staff and guests at the opening of the new headquarters building in Qingyuan, Guangdong, which also marked the company's 26th anniversary.

On 6 June 2026, BMS marked 26 years in stage lighting and opened a new headquarters building — a single site that puts production, storage, R&D, a product showroom and customer service under one roof.

A new headquarters

The new building was purpose-planned rather than adapted. Space is divided by function — raw material storage, a standardised manufacturing workshop, the brand showroom, administration and a guest meeting area — so that the path from component intake to finished fixture, and from enquiry to a working demonstration, both happen in one place.

For customers, the practical effect is a shorter distance between the questions and the answers. A project can be specified, mocked up and demonstrated on site, with the engineering team in the same building as the production line.

Twenty-six years, from a workshop to a full-chain manufacturer

BMS was founded in 2000 and has grown from workshop-scale production into an integrated manufacturer — in-house R&D and design, volume manufacturing, project customisation and full-scope after-sales support.

Today that means:

  • More than 6,000 m² of self-built industrial space
  • A team of over one hundred people
  • Three business lines: outdoor and cultural-tourism lighting, professional stage lighting, and entertainment lighting
  • A complete BMS-branded product range — moving head beam lights, pattern and profile cutting fixtures, conference face lights and outdoor waterproof fixtures
  • ISO 9001, CE and RoHS certification, plus a Class I lighting engineering construction qualification

The company serves theatres, auditoriums and lecture halls, cultural-tourism projects, bars, banquet halls and multi-function venues, with products and services now sold both in China and overseas.

The ceremony

The morning programme opened with a lion dance — a traditional Chinese blessing performed on the red carpet in front of the new building — followed by speeches from the chairman and from industry partners.

The ribbon-cutting was performed by chairman Mr. Li Jiye together with partners and members of the management team, after which the lions were dotted with paint to "wake" them and the ceremonial lettuce was gathered — a symbolism of prosperity and lasting foundation.

In his address the chairman traced the company's path from its 2000 start through technical consolidation, expansion and brand building, thanked the industry associations, partners and staff who supported it, and set out the direction for the years ahead: R&D investment, manufacturing capacity, deeper domestic channels and continued expansion into overseas markets.

A look inside

Guests toured the building in groups, walking the manufacturing floor, the R&D centre, the product showroom and the office areas — the same route a visiting customer takes.

The showroom and the manufacturing floor being in the same building is deliberate. It means a buyer can see a finished fixture demonstrated, and then see the line and the testing procedure that produced it, in the same visit — which is the closest thing to an answer to the question every export customer eventually asks: what happens when something goes wrong in year three?

Partners, and the people who build it

The evening brought a thank-you dinner attended by suppliers, customers and industry colleagues, along with representatives of several performing-arts equipment associations and partner companies including HC360 Audio & Lighting Network.

The programme included a 26th-anniversary cake cutting and an awards session recognising long-serving employees and the suppliers whose reliability underpins the product.

For customers outside China, a headquarters opening is not an internal matter. Capacity, testing equipment and the depth of the engineering team are what determine whether a supplier can hold a delivery date and a specification two and three years after the first order — which is why we invite visiting customers to walk the line rather than just the showroom.

What it changes for our customers

Nothing about our product range changes because of a building. What changes is the ability to absorb volume without stretching lead times, to run more prototypes through in-house test equipment, and to host customers who want to see the process for themselves before placing a substantial order.

If you are specifying a theatre, an auditorium, a club or an outdoor performance venue — or planning a refurbishment — send us the drawings you have and the intended use. The conversation works by email or WhatsApp, and it works better in person if you are ever in Guangdong.
